DESCRIPTION

Glooscap First Nation installed a resilient renewable energy microgrid at Glooscap Landing to offset electricity use and strengthen the community’s ability to operate during outages caused by extreme weather. The project includes a solar PV system, a battery energy storage system, a microgrid controller, and electric vehicle fast‑charging infrastructure. The system will reduce reliance on the provincial grid, improve climate resilience, and generate energy cost savings that will directly support Glooscap First Nation.
