DESCRIPTION

Paq’tnkek Mi’kmaw Nation completed a comprehensive feasibility study to assess how solar energy could support community priorities and prepare for participation in the provincial Community Solar Program. The project examined the potential for a community solar garden, evaluated opportunities for energy efficiency upgrades in residential housing, and assessed the feasibility of integrating solar power into a new business centre scheduled for construction in 2025. Together, the community solar study, residential energy-efficiency analysis, and business-centre solar assessment informed a final report outlining pathways for clean energy development to strengthen energy sovereignty for Paq’tnkek.
