DESCRIPTION

The Margaree Salmon Association installed 20 in-stream structures to enhance fish habitat, removed barriers to fish passage, and completed a major restoration project initiated in 2023. The project also supported a team of field technicians who conducted summer monitoring to track habitat conditions and gather data on how the watershed is adapting to climate change. This work expanded the Association’s understanding of restoration needs while improving long-term ecological resilience across the Margaree River system.
