Net-Zero Affordable Housing for Seniors

Queens Neighbourhood Cooperative Housing Ltd. is designing and constructing 26 new units of affordable housing for seniors using passive house design strategies to maximize energy efficiency and comfort. Through energy-efficiency improvements, upgraded windows and doors, and mechanical and electrical system enhancements, the organization aims to achieve net-zero energy performance for the new buildings. A rooftop solar panel system will further support this goal by offsetting energy use and reducing long-term operating costs for the cooperative and its residents.
