DESCRIPTION

The Centre for Water Resources Studies at Dalhousie University examined how climate change is affecting groundwater in rural Nova Scotia, focusing on risks such as reduced recharge, saltwater intrusion in coastal aquifers, and flooding of septic systems. Working with Rural Water Watch, the team developed updated groundwater models and practical adaptation tools to help local water stewards plan for changing conditions. The project will provide communities that rely heavily on groundwater with clearer insight into emerging threats and will support more informed local decision-making.
