DESCRIPTION
The Town of Amherst has completed major stormwater infrastructure upgrades to reduce flooding in two priority areas that have been repeatedly impacted by heavy rainfall and rapid snowmelt. The project used hydraulic modelling to identify system bottlenecks, implemented channel improvements and flow-regulation measures, and integrated stormwater storage into the drainage network to increase overall pipeline capacity. By strengthening critical stormwater systems, the Town has reduced inflow and infiltration issues and improved long-term community resilience to extreme weather.
