Advancing Net-Zero Retrofits for Community Buildings

The Plymouth Community and Recreation Association worked with 21 non-profit community organizations from across the region to pursue net-zero energy retrofits for community centres through energy-efficiency upgrades and on-site renewable energy. By pooling resources, the organizations strengthened the long-term sustainability of 21 community centres, reducing operating costs while ensuring these important spaces remained accessible for the people who relied on them. In addition to the physical upgrades, the project produced a comprehensive “how-to” guide to support other community groups navigating similar retrofit efforts.
